Static & Stillness offers the first destination in Northeast Ohio fully dedicated to ASMR-Infused Massage & Body Treatments. Customized sessions can include ASMR Light Touch Therapy, Integrative Massage, and/or Reiki Energy Work.
How do you help your customers?
The S&S mission is to blend professional, proactive massage modalities with ASMR tools and sensations to design an innovative, customized bodywork experience. This isn’t designed to be a cookie-cutter spa massage model — it’s about intently listening and grasping a deep understanding that every person responds differently to touch, scents, sounds, lighting … all things sensory.
Not everyone loves lavender essential oils.
Not everybody wants strong massage pressure.
Not every person likes having their face, ears, or feet touched.
The goal is for each individual walking through that door to receive a tailored experience that lends to what is going to make them comfortable and relaxed. That’s where the true magic begins … as calming the brain and body are the very first steps before anything else can be healed within the mind, body, or spirit.
S&S offers five foundational services that lay the groundwork — ranging from tactile ASMR to deep tissue. What kicks this up a notch is factoring each client’s specific input to create tailored, personalized sensory experiences. We also offer add-ons and are always open to new ideas and feedback to continue tweaking and improving each session.
The bottom line is that Static & Stillness is a holistic massage and energy work business that is 100% about YOU, in every sense — and sensory — of the word.
How did the business get started?
As a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2016, it has been a dream of mine to offer ASMR-Inspired Massage & Integrative Bodywork to our community for quite some time. It is something that I personally respond to (my favorite thing in the world is having my arms and back scratched!), and I’ve noticed a growing need to fill this touch service void in Northeast Ohio. I decided to take the leap in late summer of 2024 and officially launched Static & Stillness in March 2025!
What is your business’s relationship with the city of Akron and Akronites?
Having lived in various parts of Northeast Ohio for the majority of my life, the Akron community has played a vital role, personally and professionally … it honestly feels quite intertwined. My husband graduated from The University of Akron (Go Zips!), and one of our favorite date nights involves eating at Crave and catching an event at EJ Thomas Hall. Over the years, it has been incredible to watch Akron grow and thrive, and it’s such an exciting thing to be a small part of.
While weighing out options for my main business location, my only trusted curly-hair guru and dear friend offered me space at Studio Luxe in Stow. I knew right away that this was home for Static & Stillness, as I could serve Akron and the surrounding areas. Although my primary space is there, I have the ability to travel and partner for pop-ups, events, and parties as well!
How do you see your business growing into the future?
Static & Stillness is so fresh and new … I feel like the sky is the limit! Not only a new business to the area, but an entirely new concept being introduced to our region.
My vision is to see tactile ASMR become a recognized touch therapy modality and to create thriving partnerships with other like-minded businesses and individuals in our community. I would love to offer workshops and events off-site, as the goal is to help as many people as possible to find their inner-peace and recognize the importance of their own personalized self-care.
