Meet Joshua Blythe:
I grew up in Northeast Ohio and spent the first 18 years of my life here.
Then I spent the following 18 years away, first to NYC and then to Europe followed by Texas (with several annual month long work trips in Argentina). While I was greatly influenced by that adventure, I never stopped thinking of myself as from the Western Reserve (Ohio). To me it has always been a magical place. From sneaking into the gardens of Stan Hywet as a kid, to summer camp at Manatoc as a scout and later a camp counselor ,it has always been very dear to me.
In 2007 I returned to Akron’s westside, and continued my business as an interior designer. I have owned and restored two homes here, and my husband Chris and I belong and serve on the board of Progress Through Preservation. As well as my cochairing the Sugar Plum Tour in 2023. I love what our region offers…an unparalleled wealth of architectural gems, along with a rich history of industry and achievement. I love our access to culture via the Akron Art Museum, Blossom, EJ Thomas and the Civic, as well as its proximity to Cleveland and all the wonderful institutions and cultural resources it has to offer. Not to mention the geographic marvel that is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. No where I have lived offers this level of lifestyle with this accessible cost of living, and best of all, it’s a secret and one that is well worth keeping amongst those of us that truly pinch ourselves at how lucky we are to get to live, love, and achieve here.
