Hi friends! I’m Nardos, founder of Café Bereka here in Akron, Ohio, where we serve authentic Ethiopian coffee, dairy-free specialties, and wholesome comfort food made with love.
I was born and raised in Ethiopia, where coffee isn’t just a drink; it’s a sacred ritual of connection, community, and slowing down together. When I relocated to Akron in 2010, I carried those traditions with me; and I’ve fallen in love with how this city embraces warmth, creativity, and togetherness, just like back home.
At Café Bereka, my mission is simple: to create a cozy space where people gather, share stories, and experience a taste of Ethiopian culture through every cup. Akron has become the heart of that dream; a place that welcomes flavor, diversity, and new beginnings.
