If you’ve been driving by the understated facade of Taste of Bangkok, run back over to E. Exchange Street and walk inside. You’ll be greeted by friendly staff in a cozy setting, ready to serve you some flavorful Thai dishes. (At your preferred level of spice, of course.)
This family-owned Thai restaurant is operated by matriarch Amy, who handles many aspects of the business, including working full-time in the kitchen. Her daughter Sha, who grew up in the space, is also very involved with the restaurant.
“A restaurant can have good food, but the good food itself is not going to be the only reason that people decide to keep coming back.”
Find out what Sha thinks sets Taste of Bangkok apart from other local restaurants. Watch their episode of Behind the Menu, then stop in to see – and taste – it for yourself.

Behind the Menu is a new 4-part video series produced by Everyday Akron. We gave four local food businesses a filming kit — and some guidance — for a week to share their story.
We see pretty food on social media all the time … But who’s behind it? How did they get into the industry? Where does their inspiration come from? And what does it mean to them to “eat local?”
