Black lives matter, in Akron and beyond. Please use your voice and resources by supporting protests, donating to local and national organizations, and helping in any way you can. Also, take the time to learn about systemic racism.
The Devil Strip has compiled a variety of anti-racism resources (including local organizations to support) and Black-owned businesses in Akron. Please visit (and bookmark) the following:
These pages are a great start, but please continue to seek out additional resources at a local and national level. If there’s something you’re looking for and just can’t find it, feel free to ask me, and I’ll help you look.
Vote

In addition to using your voice right now for good, don’t forget to use it to vote this November. (And in all local elections, of course.)
Please visit the Summit County Board of Elections website. You can confirm you’re still registered to vote (don’t assume), update your address if you moved, discover what issues are on the ballot, and find your polling place.
Not from Akron or Summit County? Visit Vote Save America to sign up or double check your registration.
There’s a possibility that things can change between now and the election due to the spread of COVID-19, so keep your eyes and ears open for any updates to the process and the option for a mail-in ballot.
