How and when did the business get started?
Julia Belle was my mom who passed away in 2015. While cleaning out her house I found a small trunk filled with her recipes. I decided to package some of them to sell at a farmer’s market. It was then that Julia Belle’s went from idea to reality.
What types of products or services do you offer?
Hand-blended seasonings that are naturally vegan with no GMO, MSG, or artificial colors, with sugar and salt free options. All of our baking and side dish mixes can be made by adding 2-3 ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
How do you help your customers?
Julia Belle’s helps people who hate to cook or who just don’t know how; we make bland food taste delicious. Great taste is easy with the right seasonings! We offer an excellent way to create international cuisines without traveling abroad.
What is your business’s relationship with the city of Akron and Akronites?
Julia Belle’s participates in the Akronite Blimps program at Northside Marketplace. We support / vend at live events sponsored by the Downtown Akron Partnership. We supply seasonings to Lock 3 Kitchen.
In 2021, Julia Belle’s Seasonings, Rubs & Mixes won the Life’s A Pitch Contest through Bounce Innovation Hub and Crafty Mart’s Creative Catapult. We love Akron!
How do you see your business growing/evolving into the future?
Growing our wholesale base of stores, restaurants and caterers; as well as opening a brick and mortar retail location. Expansion into cooked food distribution and continuing to grow our online business community.
