Meet Joe:
Hey Hey Hey! My name is Joe Ott and I’ll be your host for the week! I’m really excited about the opportunity to showcase my work and a little of my personal life and why I love this area of Ohio so much. I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, but I currently live and work in West Akron. I graduated from Kent State with a bachelors degree in Tourism Management and a Minor in business and currently work full time at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens as the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, but my real passion is art.
I specialize mostly in wood and metal sculpting, but love to play with ALL mediums. I’m always wanting to try new things and bounce around from medium to medium quite frequently, and I’ll admit that I can bounce around a little too much sometimes and get bored of things a little too quickly, but that’s where my girlfriend and now manager comes in. She helps keep me focused and goal driven and is helping me to build my artwork in to something hopefully much bigger than what it is today. She also happens to be my best friend and I’d be remiss if I didn’t brag about her a little on here.
Julie is one of the best humans you could ever meet. She passionate, loving, caring, funny, tenacious and 1000 more adjectives. She always stands up for what she thinks is right and just and is always looking out for the less fortunate. She’s just an amazing human, and I’m very lucky to have her in my life.
I am a passionate animal lover and vegan, and am basically obsessed with my dog, River. I’m a big outdoor enthusiast and love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and more.
This week I’ll be showcasing my artwork, my dog River and girlfriend’s dog Vinny, some of the parks we love, some behind the scenes stuff @stanhywet, and hopefully much more.
