“Put Your Stamp” on Akron Postcard Project

Akron Postcard Club even with Everyday Akron

On August 30, 2023, Everyday Akron partnered with the Akron Postcard Club for an event where participants could “put their stamp” on Akron by responding to three different prompts on postcards created for the event.

The three prompts were:

  • What does your “Everyday Akron” look like?
  • What is your favorite Akron memory?
  • The past 100 years of Akron’s history has been dominated by rubber. What do you think Akron should be known for in the next 100 years?

At the end of the event, Everyday Akron collected the postcards to scan them and upload them to our website. Some participants included their address on the postcard so that we could mail it back to them after it was scanned. In total, we collected 73 postcards, and 37 of those postcards were mailed out.

Thank you to Akron Postcard Club for collaborating with us for this event, and to everyone who participated– we had a great time!

You can browse the scanned postcards below. Click to view a full image and then tap through. (If the backs were left blank, we did not include that side in the galleries.)
