What types of products or services do you offer?

We offer true American vintage clothes, accessories, jewelry, and small home goods.

How do you help your customers?

We always ask three questions before choosing the items we stock the store with:

  • Where was it made?
  • When was it made?
  • What is it?

We prioritize made-in-USA clothing and goods from the 1920s to 1990s. Classic, timeless, and quality pieces of all sizes are always available. There’s truly something for everyone. And we love helping our customers find the right pieces and styles that suit them best.

We buy, sell, and trade (but keep in mind our three questions)!

How did the business get started?

We’re proud to have recently opened a new small business smack dab in between the Highland Square and West Hill neighborhoods. I’ve been a vintage collector for 25 years. We finally decided to take the plunge and opened Akorn Vintage on November 23, 2024.

What is your business’s relationship with the city of Akron and Akronites?

I’m from Chicago and Jen is from Akron and graduated from The University of Akron in 2005. We met many moons ago while both living in Tampa. Then we moved to Chicago and eventually made our way out to Denver. After 15 years away, we made the big move back to Akron in 2021.

After some time away and a bit of growing up, we moved here with fresh perspectives and have a newfound appreciation for the city of Akron and surrounding NE Ohio area. And, apparently, we’re suckers for old brick buildings. Over the past 2.5 years, weโ€™ve put plenty of blood, sweat, and tears into restoring the historic 1913 brick building near the corner of Rhodes & Crosby. This beauty has come a long way while still maintaining its original charm.

Opening Akorn Vintage in the building is the icing on the cake and a dream come true! We welcome any and all Akronites to our shop and are excited to meet more of the community and develop relationships with other local businesses.

How do you see your business growing into the future?

We have so much in store for the future! We’d like to collaborate with other local small businesses, participate in local and state-wide vintage markets, and offer local vintage vendors a space at the shop to sell and promote their goods.
