Meet Helaina, in her own words:
My name is Helaina, and I am 29 years old. I have a husband and 4 dogs. I have lived in Akron for the past 10 years: Highland Square for about 5, but purchased a house in the Kenmore neighborhood about 4 years ago. We’re currently looking to relocate to the Wallhaven neighborhood or closer to Sand Run.
I love that no matter what neighborhood you’re in, there’s a sense of community. Not only where you live, but where you work. I have recently opened my own my salon in Downtown Akron, and the support and love from other local businesses in the area is amazing! It’s something that I value, and the people of Akron really showed up!
There are so many organizations, and different kinds of businesses, churches, communities…. Akron really has it all. You get the big city vibe without the big city. And all of that is what’s drawn me to Akron. Not to mention the metro parks that Akron has to offer!
