Meet Ben:
Born and raised in Akron and proud to still call it home! My roots in Akron are deep, generations of my family have sewn their seeds here, including my great grandfather Tony who was given the unofficial title as the “Mayor of Tallmadge Ave”.
I am a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter as well as an entrepreneur! I have fronted several bands including Taxidermy Special, The Dreemers and my most current group Benny Lava & The Guavas. I am part owner and operator of local recording studio, Akron Recording Company, a premier audio facility in the Cascade Valley/North Side District. We specialize in analog and digital recording, video production, and curated live events, and we also function as an independent record label! My mission has been to help put the local Akron music scene on the map and to serve as a platform to help launch and develop local artists!
Whether I’m performing on stage, working in the studio, or hiking the CVNP, I am always striving to make meaningful connections with this city and the wonderful people here!
