Meet Abbey:
I came to Akron in 2020 after I graduated from Ohio University for a reporter job at The Devil Strip magazine through a nonprofit called Report for America. You may have seen my byline in the Akron Beacon Journal, where I covered the city and local government until last week. (Starting a new job in Cleveland this week!)
I’m originally from Cincinnati, so I hadn’t spent much time in Northeast Ohio, but this quirky little town has become home over the past few years. Through my job, I’ve met so many interesting people and gotten to know some of the best parts of this city.
In my free time, I can be found hiking in the metro parks with my dog, bouldering at Rock Mill or watching movies at The Nightlight or Highland Theater.
