What types of products or services do you offer?
Whiskers & Wine, launching in February 2023, is a cat lounge and wine bar where patrons can hang out, grab a drink, shop local goods, and play with adoptable cats.
How do you help your customers?
We connect our customers with a safe, LGBTQIA+ friendly hangout space that connects patrons with local products and adoptable cats. Additionally, we will offer special events monthly including D&D and Cats, Drag & Cats, and more.
How did the business get started?
Whiskers & Wine came about as a way to combine animal welfare and for-profit enterprises to create something entirely new.
What is your business’s relationship with the city of Akron and Akronites?
As an Akron native, I recognize the lack of development focused on younger and more diverse populations (especially in the downtown area). I want to be the change I want to see in my community, which is why I chose to headquarter my businesses here when I could easily have chosen more profitable communities like Columbus and Cleveland. I believe in Akron and want to inspire others to feel the same.
How do you see your business growing/evolving into the future?
Our strategic plan includes our expansion into a second location within the next three years. Our goal is to be the first multi-location cat cafe company in the United States.
