Meet Sarah Swirsky:
I’m a lifelong Akronite and Licensed Independent Social Worker with a passion for strengthening the health and well-being of my community. After spending part of my 20s on the west coast, I returned home with an even deeper appreciation for Akron’s resilience, creativity, and strong sense of community. Today, I own a private counseling practice, where I help adults navigate trauma, grief, and other mental health concerns through a holistic approach. I also serve in the unique role of Music + Wellness Coordinator for local public radio station, The Summit FM 91.3, where I develop community programs that explore the intersection of music and mental well-being.
Public service has long been a core value in my family, and I’m grateful to carry that tradition forward through my own work. What I love most about Akron is how deeply people care about this community. From its vibrant arts and music scene to its beautiful parks and collaborative spirit, Akron is a place where meaningful ideas—and meaningful relationships—can flourish.
