Quiet Thoughts Matter | Non-Profit Feature

What are the mission and vision of the non-profit?

We bring awareness to emotional wellness through conversation, creative expression, and movement. We believe that not all scars are visible. Thatโ€™s why every thought deserves to be heard.

Quiet Thoughts Matter’s mission is to cultivate inclusive spaces for children and families to learn emotional wellness and mental health awareness through reflection, expression and connection.

Our vision is a world where emotional wellness is a part of daily life, mental health is embraced without stigma, and families grow stronger across generations.

How and when did the non-profit get started?

We originally started in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2016 as a way to navigate the loss of a family member from suicide. We then shifted the nonprofit format in 2025.

What is your focus in now? ย

Quiet Thoughts Matter focuses on promoting emotional wellness through prevention, education, and community-based experiences. We serve youth, young adults, families, schools, and organizations by creating safe spaces for conversations about mental health through art, movement, and meaningful connection.

We do this because everyone deserves access to tools and support that help them navigate emotions before they reach a crisis. I personally do it because it allows me to still heal from everyday grief.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?ย

Quiet Thoughts Matter is working to become a leading community resource for emotional wellness by expanding access to prevention-focused programs that help people build healthy coping skills before they reach a crisis.

Our goal is to grow our partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, and businesses to make emotional wellness education more accessible across Northeast Ohio and beyond.

In the future, we hope to establish a dedicated wellness center, expand our youth mentoring and family programming, develop evidence-informed curricula and resources, and create sustainable opportunities for communities to prioritize emotional well-being every day.

Ultimately, we want to help normalize conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, and ensure that everyone has a safe place to process, heal, and thrive.

How can people get involved?

There are many ways to get involved with Quiet Thoughts Matter. Community members can volunteer at events, facilitate workshops, sponsor programs, donate to support our mission, partner with us as a school or organization, or help spread awareness by sharing our work.

Whether you give your time, resources, or voice, every contribution helps us create more opportunities for youth and families to access emotional wellness programming and meaningful community connections. We are also always seeking out board members to support the vision in Mission.

We have some upcoming events happening again. Would love to get people out to pause in process.
